Children love exploring the texture they can mold it, swirl, write in it, bury things in it, squeeze it and rub it. Shaving foam play provides children with the opportunity to develop fine motor skills and builds strength in their hands and fingers. It also encourages children to explore imaginative play when adding different things into the shaving foam. You can add lots of different items in to aid play depending on what you would like to achieve. I like to add glitter and food coloring and this gives the children a more visual effect. Essential oils can also be used in the shaving foam and this creates a lovely scent! Perfect for the children who like to smell everything, you could tailor the scent to one of your children’s favorites
Shaving foam can also be used in multi sensory learning. This approach can be used at home or in an educational setting an creates a sense of fun while learning. Children retain information more effectively when it is done in a multi sensory approach. Children can learn numerous different things in the shaving foam by allowing children to write in the foam, letters, phonic sounds, spellings, numbers etc..
